  • See how a character is written, stroke by stroke, and which radical and parts it is built from.
  • Browse words and characters by HSK 3.0 level, from beginner to advanced.

Built on open data

Chinesekit is built on open resources, including the CC-CEDICT word list and the Make Me a Hanzi stroke data. Some definitions and example sentences are written with the help of an AI language model; entries that a person has not yet checked are labelled "Unreviewed". Every source and license is listed on the Sources page.

What Chinesekit leaves out

No long-text translation, course system, account, flashcards or community. The goal is simple: help you understand a Chinese character or word quickly and accurately.
